Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva is one of the principal deities of Hinduism and the supreme being within Shaivism. Known as Mahadev (Great God), he is the Destroyer and Transformer within the Trimurti. Depicted as the cosmic dancer (Nataraja), the ascetic yogi, and the compassionate householder, Shiva embodies both creation and dissolution. He resides on Mount Kailash with Goddess Parvati, and his third eye, when opened, destroys all that is impure.
